If this was a call for help, she probably needed someone to talk or have some help at home. On the other hand even though this woman was venting about the frustrations of being a parent, asking about smothering a child is kind of extreme. Father Furious After 9-Year-Old Daughter is Accused of Selling "Drugs" at School - Blog Entry30 Dec 2008 04:57 PM If my child was dubbed a drug dealer at school just for giving away a vitamin C drop, I'd put my child in a different school and have a serious talk with the teacher and the school principal.Talk about mis-labeling an innocent child! I think this teacher should not be so paranoid and study up on just what illegal drugs are and what they look like. What Do You Do With Pictures of Other People's Kids? - Blog Entry17 Dec 2008 02:46 PM Since I have very little time and focus to keep up with putting Christmas card pics of friends and family, they end up on the fridge or go into a pile somewhere in the house. Eventually, I would love to put them all in a photo album. I'm just not organized enough I guess. Would You Allow Your Child to Wear a Purity Ring? - Blog Entry10 Dec 2008 10:57 AM My daughter is too young for us to even think about this. Since we are not Christian, I seriously doubt we'll be pushing the purity ring on our daughter. I'd rather educate her on the consequences of her actions when it comes to pre-marital sexual relations. We will make it clear that the best way to go is to abstain, but she should also know about birth control and keeping herself safe. Hey Moms... What's On Your Christmas Wish List? - Blog Entry09 Dec 2008 05:31 PM I want job stability and decent pay for my husband and for me, to be able to get everything I want to get for my family, and to just enjoy the festivities. Do You Read to Your Children? - Blog Entry20 Nov 2008 03:18 PM LOL, yeah some kids have a very hard time staying in one place to be read to. My daughter has gotten a little bit better, although she would still rather be the reader than the one read to. Do You Read to Your Children? - Blog Entry19 Nov 2008 03:18 PM Our daughter reads to us, in fact she is required by her teacher to read a book every night of week. We fill out a reading log after each time she reads a book. It's funny, when she was a toddler, she did not like to be read to; she'd rather look at the pictures. It was difficult to get her to sit down long enough to read a book to her. The Great Stroller Debate--Preschool Edition - Blog Entry12 Nov 2008 12:55 PM We used a stroller for our daughter until she was about five years old. She's not obese and got plenty of exercise during those years we used a stroller. It's a parent's choice when using a stroller is no longer needed or viable. What Gwyneth does with her children is really no one else's business! Teens Banned from Trick-or-Treating - Blog Entry31 Oct 2008 12:40 PM Isn't this ban punishing all the teens in this town for the acts of a few roudy teens? I have to say that I disagree with the ban. Although I think the curfew could be raised to 8:30pm. Maybe the local high schools could bring up the issue of respecting our elders and being reasonable about trick-or-treating on halloween. In my neighborhood we've gotten trick-or-treaters all the way up to 9pm. Something for Parents of LEGO Lovers to Think About - Blog Entry29 Oct 2008 11:46 AM My two sons always liked to build ships, planes, space ships, tanks and anything else that is mechanical or has to do with a battle. My daughter likes build towers, castles, trains, cars, planes and houses with legos. There is a difference as to how a boy and girl will naturally play with toys. Girls often like to build a story out of whatever they build with legos. Also with girls, just about anything they build has a personality and a name. With boys, whatever is built is a thing and needs to be tested and eventually destroyed. |
