Harry the Humanitarian

If Prince Harry had his way he would leave his royal life behind in England and move to Africa to help needy children there. The 23-year-old prince made the statement to reporters as he continued his month-long humanitarian mission in the impoverished African kingdom of Lesotho. The British royal solider is in the region trying to balance his army life and his charity work. For the next couple of weeks the handsome royal will work with Sentebale – the charity he and Lesotho’s Prince Seeiso founded in the memory of Harry’s late mother, Princess Diana. Four years ago Harry spent … Continue reading

Princess Plays in her Birthday Suit

It wasn’t Bea in the buff; rather it was her younger sister Princess Eugenie, the daughter of Sarah Ferguson, the Duchess of York, and Prince Andrew who was recently caught frolicking in the buff with her school chums. According to Britain’s The Sun, the 18-year-old princess was busted at her posh boarding school in Wiltshire, England, after a night out at a local pub with her school friends. (The legal drinking age in Britain is 18.) The paper reports that Princess Eugenie and her pals were celebrating the end of the school term and decided to shed their clothes (and … Continue reading

Prince William’s Fly Moves

Prince William just earned his helicopter “wings” a few weeks ago and he’s already making headlines for questionable maneuvers. Personally, I think the entire brouhaha is quite humorous. According to British newspapers, Princess Diana’s first born was out flying a 90-foot, twin-rotor, troop-carrying Chinook last week when he decided to swing by his girlfriend’s parent’s house and show off a bit. The News of the World is reporting that William successfully maneuvered his helicopter in a field behind gal pal Kate Middleton’s parent’s home while she and her folks looked on. According to reports, the prince was only on the … Continue reading

Royal Return

He’s baaaack! Prince Harry has returned to British soil after serving time on the frontlines in Afghanistan. The handsome royal was embraced by his brother Prince William and his father Prince Charles as he walked off the plane at the Royal Air Force Base Brize Norton, in Oxfordshire, 50 miles northwest of London. Shortly after Harry disembarked from the plane his father told reporters: “It’s a great relief to see him home in one piece.” Harry made it home safe and sound, but he’s back earlier than he expected. No thanks to the media representatives who went public with the … Continue reading

Prince Harry Fighting the Taliban

So much for keeping it a secret mission. Prince Harry has spent the last 10 weeks on the frontline in Afghanistan serving his country alongside his fellow soldiers. Only the world was not supposed to know about it. Of course, he is the son of Prince Charles and the late Princess Diana, so it should come as no surprise that someone let out that the 23-year-old second lieutenant in the Blues and Royals regiment of the Household Cavalry had finally gotten his wish to join his fellow British countrymen in the war-torn country. According to news reports, Harry arrived in … Continue reading

Hollywood’s Newest Babies of the New Year

Their child didn’t win the title of Hollywood’s first baby of 2008, but actor Daniel Baldwin and his wife Joanne Smith-Baldwin are thrilled just the same. The couple welcomed a daughter into the world very early yesterday morning. The actor told news reporters that Avis Ann Baldwin was born Thursday at 12:59 a.m. at Cedars-Sinai Medical Center in Los Angeles. She weighed in at 7 lbs. 10 oz. Avis’ mom and is a 38-year-old former British fashion model turned chef, who met Daniel last year during his stint in an exclusive drug and alcohol rehab facility in Malibu. At the … Continue reading

Queen Elizabeth Internet Star?

Prince William’s granny is going global… via the World Wide Web. Britain’s 81-year-old royal matriarch is entering foreign territory, but the queen says she is up to the task. Queen Elizabeth II, Britain’s oldest-ever monarch and an icon of traditionalism, launched her own special Royal Channel on YouTube today. Which just goes to prove that it is never too late to join the YouTube generation. The queen’s introduction to the popular video-sharing website comes a little more than 36 hours before she sends out her 50th annual televised Christmas message, which will be streamed on her YouTube site. The queen’s … Continue reading

Celebrity Weekend Wrap

How did Madonna celebrate signing a new $120 million recording and touring contract with Live Nation? By sharing her new wealth with her aging daughter. Okay, the Material Girl’s daughter Lourdes is only 11, but the mother-daughter duo plus one (Lourdes’ best friend) reportedly dropped a ton of dough this weekend at a luxurious hotel in Santa Monica. According to news reports, the pop superstar pampered her daughter (and her pal) with a 6-hour spa treatment to celebrate the tween’s birthday. Madonna’s birthday girl was reportedly treated to various beautifying treatments including a brow wax, massage, facial, pedicure and manicure. … Continue reading

Can The Royals Finally Stop Running?

The British press is reporting that Prince William recently whisked girlfriend Kate Middleton to the scene of some of their first dates–the Highlands of Scotland. William and Kate are reportedly staying at Queen Elizabeth’s Balmoral estate where they are said to be engaging in their favorite field sports. It’s not earth-shattering news, but there are two points that intrigued me about the story. First, the young couple reportedly flew from London to Scotland on a British Airways flight and did not accept any special treatment. Which meant they were offered the same in-flight snack as all the other passengers–a choice … Continue reading

Camilla Banned From Princess Diana Memorial Service

That’s what some loyal Princess Diana fans would like people to think, but according to British newspapers, Prince Charles’s wife Camilla voluntarily decided to sit out Friday’s memorial service for the late Princess of Wales. Palace officials say Diana’s sons, Prince William and Prince Harry – who will lead the service, marking the 10-year anniversary of her death – extended an invitation to Camilla, and she had initially accepted. But once British newspaper columnists learned that the Duchess of Cornwall, had accepted the invitation from Charles and his sons, they unleashed a litany of postings urging her not to attend … Continue reading
