She claims she doesn’t play with Barbie dolls, but perhaps she’ll make room on her shelf for her look-alike. Bindi Irwin is a doll. Really. The Emmy-winning daughter of the late “Crocodile Hunter” Steve Irwin can now sit in your child’s bedroom. Well, at least a 10-inch version of the spunky tyke can. Can’t we all just get along? There is a major disturbance going on in the Australian zoo created by the late Steve “Crocodile Hunter” Irwin… only it doesn’t involve feisty animals. According to Australian TV reports, Irwin’s father, Bob, said he quit the family’s Australian conservation park because he had become a “disrupting influence.” That’s his story anyway. Since “Crocodile Hunter” Steve Irwin’s tragic death in 2006, the conservationist’s 9-year-old daughter Bindi has replaced him in the media spotlight. That is until his 4-year-old son got bit by a snake. Irwin’s son Bob made headlines recently after he sustained a wound from a baby boa constrictor. The family of the late Crocodile Hunter Steve Irwin — wife Terri and daughter Bindi — are making 2008 their year for a campaign against Japanese whaling. After Steve Irwin’s death in 2007, Terri Irwin purchased a whale watching business. That whale watching business will help launch the Irwin family’s anti-whaling project. Terri’s goal is to demonstrate that whale research can be done without killing — Japanese whalers continue to hunt and kill humpbacks in the name of science. The dedicated environmentalist, who was killed in a stingray attack last year, will be honored with a new wildlife reserve in Australia. According to government officials, a 333,585-acre chunk of land located in the far northern portion of Irwin’s home state of Queensland will be named after the popular television host and managed by his family (including his chip-off-the-block daughter, Bindi).
