Steve Martin Makes History and Sarah Palin Goes for Broke

There is just something about Steve Martin that makes me melt… like chocolate on a hot sidewalk. He is one of my favorite actors, and I am now counting down the days until he makes history on NBC. The super funnyman is set to host “Saturday Night Live” for a record 15th time on January 31st. This will be his first appearance in three years. I can’t wait! Martin is the reason I‘ve seen “Father of the Bride,“ Cheaper by the Dozen,” “The Jerk,” “All of Me” “Dirty Rotten Scoundrels,” “L.A. Story,” “Parenthood” and “Planes, Trains and Automobiles” more than … Continue reading

Marcia Brady’s Been a Bad Bad Girl

Maureen McCormick, aka Marcia Brady, is the latest former child star to pen his or her memoirs and boy, does she have a story to tell! While Maureen played Marcia, a peaches and creme perfect teen on “The Brady Bunch,” it seems that real life was – well, a bit different. Maureen’s new book “Surviving Marcia Brady and Finding My True Voice,” which is hitting the bookstores today, tells a tale of sex and drugs without the rock ‘n roll. Now 52, Maureen even talks about her romance with her onscreen brother Barry Williams. She said they shared a kiss, … Continue reading

Not under the stars, but next to them. And I’m not talking about constellations. This is the real deal. Steve Martin’s Comedic Genius

I just got through reading Steve Martin’s biography, Born Standing Up: A Comic’s Life. The book was a good, easy read, but it also gave some insight into Steve’s life. I guess I usually think of a comedian as being outgoing and the life of the party, but that is not always the case. In fact, it seems that it was Steve’s desire to impress his emotionally distant father. Steve seems to be a rather reserved, private person in real life. Steve started out at a magic shop at Disneyland before moving on to the Bird Cage Theater at Knott’s … Continue reading

This year, the Center will honor: Brian Wilson A founding member of the Beach Boys, Wilson was the lead songwriter, producer, composer, and arranger for the group. He also played bass and often sang lead vocals. He began performing with the Beach Boys in the early Sixties and he continues to perform today, planning … Continue reading

Celebrity Weddings—Just Hitched and Getting Hitched

Usher may have gotten cold feet, but it seems nothing was going stop Steve Martin from getting hitched this weekend. Not even the fact that his guests didn’t know there was going to be a wedding. It was no secret that Martin intended to marry his girlfriend Anne Stringfield, but it appears no one knew it was going to happen Saturday night. According to Martin’s publicist, some 75 big name guests were not told that they would be witnessing Martin and Stringfield exchange vows when they were invited to the actor’s home for a “party.” The nuptials were a surprise … Continue reading

Juicy Hollywood Tidbits – July 24, 2007

Jon Lovitz Warns Andy Dick You probably know of Andy Dick’s woes with drugs. Apparently, that helped to ruin his friendship with Jon Lovitz. Last week at the Hollywood comedy club The Laugh Factory, Lovitz and Dick clashed and it was anything but funny. The two had a falling out over 10 years ago when Lovitz accused Dick of introducing mutual pal Phil Hartman’s wife to cocaine again. It was only a few months later that she killed Phil then shot herself. Lovitz said that a year ago, Dick threatened his life in a restaurant, saying, “I put the Phil … Continue reading
