It is time for the Golden Raspberry Awards, more affectionately known as the Razzies. Well, at least affectionately by those not receiving one. While the Oscars honor the best films of the year, the Razzies “honor” the worst. Since 1981, the Razzies have razzed the best of the worst. The awards are given out the day before the Oscars, but typically the winners don’t show up for the ceremony. What’s up with Mike Myers? Have you seen the papers recently? The media has unleashed a litany of negative articles on the actor with headlines ranging from “Mike Myers: Cooked or Just Simmering?” to “Mike Myers all Washed Up.” And in the current issue of Rolling Stone, a reporter asks: “Is the failure of The Love Guru merely a slip or a sign of dire things to come?” Which leads to my question: Is the failure of “The Love Guru” really to blame for this media massacre?
