In his talk “Enduring Together” Bishop Richard C Edgley speaks of the love and service that the ward family can offer during times of trial. The Examples in Your Ward

Today my husband and I were talking about a family in our ward. This family has several kids, boys on missions, kids going to college on scholarships and so together in every way. When we look at this family, that is what we want to be like in another fifteen years. My husband made the comment, “They live the gospel like they really mean it.” And you know he was right. Ward activities can be a lot of fun. Ideally ward activities are supposed to happen once a month. However this might vary according to the circumstances in your ward or branch. Ward activities are a chance for the members to gather together in a less formal setting and fellowship each other. Ward activities encourage friendships to form.
