What Does Your Pet Do All Day?

Some pets love the camera My engineering husband is a bit of a techie. He’s an odd sort, however, who never asks for any presents. Most gadgets he wants are expensive, so he feels bad putting them on any gift wish lists. Ever since we started dating, I would spend the months before his birthday and Christmas browsing the internet looking for suitable contraptions or other toys he might like. That’s how I discovered website thinkgeek.com, a site devoted to cool geeky toys, technology, t-shirts, books, and more. Want A Facial Massage? Ask A Robot

Like something out of a science fiction movie or the Jetsons, robots have now been called into service to give facial massages. Researchers in Japan have developed a robot that was specifically designed to give a therapeutic facial massage to patients in hospitals and spas across the country. The creators, located at Tokyo’s Waseda University hope to see the robot employed first for patients with jaw-related medical problems and then later for beauty and relaxation massages for the general public. Pop Culture Goes High Tech

I have blogged about the power of YouTube in previous entries, but this latest incident truly proves how powerful the medium has become. Police in New Zealand say they were able to catch a thief thanks to a video posted on the popular Internet video sharing site, YouTube. According to officers, the man was taped circling the store, stealing a laptop computer, slipping it into his overcoat, then stepping out of the store unnoticed. Or so he thought. Shortly after the thief took off, his performance in the store was posted on YouTube – set to “The Pink Panther” music … Continue reading

Judging by reader comments there are many people out there who share my love of handy-dandy products. A few months ago I got a comment from Jaime who asked if I had ever heard … Continue reading

Neat Gadgets: Where Are My Keys?

Sauna Belts? Do they work?

Have you seen those commercials on television that promise to give you a flatter tummy courtesy of a device called a sauna belt? The idea behind it is that it burns away the unwanted fat around your midsection by sweating it off. The belt is wrapped around the midsection and generates heat. The heat effect is like that found in a hot sauna, but it concentrates on your midsection superheating your cellulite deposits and causing you to sweat it out. Are they kidding? Well, like most quick fix methods, the sauna belt doesn’t come highly recommended. A little surfing on … Continue reading
