Toddler Speech Evaluations

My son had a speech evaluation this past week. It has been determined that he needs to attend speech therapy twice a week. My cousin attended speech therapy when he was my son’s age. From what I’ve heard, speech therapy is very helpful for late talkers. I was very apprehensive before my son’s evaluation. I didn’t know what to expect. Runaway Toddlers

There must be other parents out there with runaway toddlers. I know I am one. My son disappeared for ten minutes in a store when he went shopping with his grandparents. Anytime my son has the opportunity to get free, he runs off. He runs away from us in stores, in the back yard and even in the house. He is just hyper and wanting to burn energy by running around. We all know that toddlers can be very messy. They are just learning to do so many new things. They haven’t quite mastered coordination yet. Toddler Art Layout

My son’s creativity has inspired me to design a new scrapbook layout using his art work. While I was working on a craft project, I gave my son some pieces of card stock, glitter glue, stickers and markers. I let him make his own creation while I worked across the table to finish my page design. I was very proud of my son’s creation. A few pieces of card stock glued together with blue glitter glue and decorated with markers. These are great little keepsakes. I have decided to use them in a two-page toddler art layout. Toddlers are always busy exploring the world around them. They are learning new things every day. Playground Precautions

I have been taking my son to the playground at our local park for more than a year and up until this week, I didn’t think much of it. I thought it was a nice outing that allowed us to get some fresh air and a change of scenery. It had not occurred to me to take any special precautions. He is, after all, just a toddler. Toddler Imaginations

I have read in many articles that it is wise to support children in their imaginary play. I have tried to do this with my son. I have found his imaginary play very entertaining and amusing. Photographing Kids On Their Level

In order to get great shots of your kids, you need to be on their level. Photos look better when they are taken at the same level as the subject. Since kids are short, you’ll need to bend or kneel down to take photos of them. If your child is playing with cars on the floor, you’ll get a better shot if you kneel down and snap the shot in front of him.
