Frugal Temptations Too

I’ve been recently talking about the frugal temptations that we faced on last week’s visit to the grocery store. Shopping at the grocery store is always an adventure, especially when we do it all together, me, my husband and our three young children. My eldest, who is six, is starting to get the lessons of living frugally, and he had to face his own temptation in the form of a “cool” new shake and pour pancake mix. You can read all about that temptation and how he handled it by clicking here: Frugal Temptations. As I mentioned at the end … Continue reading

Seasonal Sale Finds

I was out shopping seasonal sales. First, I ventured into the Half off Halloween sale at the supercenter. I had no intention of buying a ton of candy but I did buy a bag of Twix. A big bag. It was just so cheap! I also bought sacks of individually packaged Cheetos in Halloween packaging. The bags are smaller than the usual single serving bags, but they’re perfect for packing lunches. A pack has 30 bags and they were about $2.50 per pack on sale. That’s about eight cents per snack. I picked up mini granola bars too, 18 count … Continue reading

Great Deal at Borders Bookstores!

I am just so excited about this deal that I couldn’t wait to get back to my computer to share it with you! I should be doing a million other things right now, but I had to write and tell you before the best books are gone. Yesterday, we visited the mall to pick up a present for my youngest son. It was a quick trip, since we had some birthday celebrating to do. Fortunately for me, I passed by the Borders Bookstore. it was actually a Borders Express, but the manager assured me that this great deal was available … Continue reading

Amazon Children’s Book Sale

It’s an addiction. Books, that is. It’s gotten to the point where I’m supposed to give away one book every time I bring another into the house. Supposed to, that is. At today’s Boy Scout rummage sale, I bought a whole shelf load. Of course, I’m justifying it by the price, but I really can’t get enough of books! Maybe it’s better described as a life-long love affair. Books take you to places you’ll never get to visit in person, allow you to think through situations you’d otherwise never encounter, and teach you things you could never have imagined. They … Continue reading
