Being a mother is one of the biggest responsibilities in this life. It is not an easy one. It is stressful, and complicated, and tests your patience like nothing I’ve ever experienced. While I enjoy reading the monthly “Visiting Teaching” message, I especially appreciated Sister Beck’s anecdotes in this month’s message. She shares a story about attending a luncheon for Relief Society after completing one of the two assigned readings—either the Book of Mormon or a short history of the church. Focus on the Scriptures with Your Family

Teaching the scriptures to our children is essential. The stories in the scriptures give excellent real examples of how to deal with the situations and trials that your children will face in the world. As a child I loved the Old Testament stories the best, because they were full of adventure. As I grew older I came to love the courage displayed in many of the Book of Mormon stories. Receiving Insight into the Scriptures

I love doing the Scripture Study blogs. I sit down and open up the scriptures online, and I read the words that will comprise the study for that day. As I think about them, I write down the thoughts and feelings that come into my mind, which eventually become the blog. However, my thoughts and feelings are not the be-all, end-all.
