She was joking… about the cake topper… not about the wedding. Ellen DeGeneres has another reason to celebrate today. In addition to being “over the moon” about her upcoming nuptials to partner Portia de Rossi, the actress walked away with her fourth trophy as outstanding talk-show host, at last night’s 35th annual Daytime Emmy Awards. Viewing “The View” from a Different Angle

They’ve tried doing the show with a loud-mouthed dictator at the helm. And prior to that they tried to keep audiences while a self-absorbed, shoe-loving diva sat at the table. Now “The View” is trying a different tactic to score viewers–give fans V.I.P. backstage access to the show. Now it appears ABC is following suit by inviting Cindy McCain to join the ladies on “The View” – for a day. I really had no opinion of Dr. Phil McGraw prior to his involvement in the Britney Spears fiasco. Well, poor Sherri Shepherd of “The View” has put her foot in her mouth once again. It seems the comedian forgot that legendary singer Patti LaBelle was black! Sherri began appearing on the show last September and has already made a few blunders, such as arguing that Christianity was older than ancient Greece and Judaism. If you were one of the many moms who emailed ABC to say that “The View” co-host Elisabeth Hasselbeck was carrying a boy—pat yourselves on the back. Elisabeth and her NFL quarterback husband Tim Hasselbeck are the proud new parents of their first son. ABC released an announcement today that confirmed Elisabeth gave birth to a 7-lb. 15-oz. boy Friday morning at an Arizona hospital.
