I, too have been to bridal showers where they have a tp "wedding dress" contest, with teams and "models". It's amazing what people can do with any variety of materials. I have to wonder how fragile the tp was for the contestants to work with. I'd never wear a tp anything. Too many worries, too many jokes and being made fun of. Not for ME. I think it's a great idea. However, after a lifetime of Cheerios, etc. With skim milk every morning, I'm not sure I could stick with muffins, whatever, instead. I do occasionally add granola or almond slices to my Cheerios. Many mornings, I'll do half Honey Nut Cheerios, half Malt-O-Meal honey and oat flakes. After numerous purchases of makeup brushes for powder/blush, I finally gave up, since everything kept shedding badly. I spent $32 on an Aveda brush at the salon I've been going to for years. So far, I haven't had one problem with it, and am glad I invested in a higher quality item. Not that cheaper is always worse, as it's not the case all the time. I've had more expensive items that were substandard. That $32 brush will last me a long time (with proper care) and totally have been worth the extra dollars. New Grocery Shopping Techniques (2) - Blog Entry17 Jun 2008 04:57 PM I usually skip coupons too, except, it's mainly because I'm always bad at remembering to *bring* them with me to the store. :-) About the only coupons I do remember, are the gas coupons offered by my favorite grocery store; for every $10 you spend on groceries, you get 1 cent off your gas at a local station. And you can combine up to 3 coupons, and can use expired ones as well. It may not sound like much, but these days, everything really helps! I've gone back to buying the large bagged cereals Malt-O-Meal makes. After seeing how much Honey Bunches of Oats was costing recently (sorry, I can't remember the figures), I twirled around to the other side of the aisle and grabbed Malt-O-Meal's version. Maybe they've gone up too, but I feel better about the shopping change I made, in an effort to save some dinero. I think I'll be making more and more choices like this. I don't have a home computer (I mainly do e-mail and other things on my cell phone), so I'd have to do those projects at the library or a friend's, maybe at work during lunch. It's Goodwill items from all over the country available for purchase via bidding. I haven't bought anything yet, but hope to soon. The browsing, at least, is a lot of fun. Like the stores, the stock changes frequently. |
