28 Dec 2008 07:53 PM How to Enjoy FamilyPre-Planning : Think about the dynamics of your family. Your endeavor is to get everyone in the house to enjoy each other for one full day without work or any distractions. You will have to sit down and plan this carefully. If you have adult children living with you, why not give them a little invitation to spend some family time together at home. You can even send invitations to your grown children that have already left. Set the mood of the house with music appropriate for family gatherings, holidays, special occasions , etc.. Make sure you determine how much you need for food, chairs, etc.. Wow! This is going to be fun.
Picture time: Once everyone gathers in the family room or the living room as we call it in the South, then bring out your trust camera and take pictures. Digital cameras are wonderful because of the instant availability of the pictures. For those children that live away from your home, you can email them memories to last them always. Please do not forget to take pictures of the little ones. They grow up so...fast. Your pictures of them will be great to laugh at as they grow older and participate in the next family gathering.
Fun Activities: For all of you out there that have little ones 3-8 years old, you have to include activities to keep their attention or they will find something to get into. Why not hook up the Wii or the playstation and challenge them at some their games. I bought the Mrs. Pacman video game that you hook into your t.v. from Walmart for about $19.00. I love it. My kids love to cheer me on as I go from stage to stage. If you have board games, checkers, chess, all will be outstanding activities for everyone in the family. Play and laugh! Enjoy your family.
Time to eat: Spread the table with all of your family favorites. Why not sit down at the dinning room table this one time as a family. I know we are so fast paced, but for this day, you need to slow things down and sit at the table as a family. This will be a great time to share in conversation ( keep it positive and uplifting) with one another. Laugh! Tell Jokes! Enjoy your family.
Movie Time: After clean up and packing up the leftovers, what better thing to do than to watch a family movie that everyone can enjoy. Evan Almighty, Star Wars, Hitch, Ice Age, etc.. Great movies to share with your family.
Plan the next Family time together: I want to encourage you regardless of how fast your life is, what you have to do, how many clients you have, take the time Mom & Dad and choose a date for the next Family Time Gathering. Life is too.......short. Take the time to Enjoy your family. No comments on this article yet. Be the first to comment! Discuss this article
