Oh yes. Before this home we were delighted to live in one that had 1960s appliances, some of which were designed to live forever. Yes, they had to be repaired, but the repair people always commented on the overall quality of the appliances.

Unfortunately our current home has all 1980s appliances.

My ideal is to have a home that I build myself and know how to fix. Until that time, it's the repair-replace-used-new debate.

I love rhubarb too! I have several kinds in my garden. I would plant it before major growth has occurred and as soon as there is no frost. Don't expect a lot the first year - as it gets more established, the rhubarb stems will get a lot larger.

I do think that as people mature, they change. My opinions have changed a lot in the last ten years, as has my confidence in myself. Sometimes, I think that these changes move us farther away from our spouse.

I think that people need to understand that marriage is something to work on. It's difficult, this marriage thing, precisely because people do change. Passion only takes you so far.
