The Gift of Fit Living

FitnessWhat is one of the best gifts you could give this holiday season?  How about the gift of health?

Maybe you have been thinking about what to buy for someone you love.  Or you have been asked what you would like for Christmas.  The following are some fit living gift ideas.

Let’s start with an easy one.  How about a gym club membership?  Sometimes you can get really good deals at this time of year.  You might receive a discount for the first year or three months free.   Shop around and see what’s out there.

Fitness gadgets and accessories make for nice stocking stuffers.  Pedometer, wristbands, portable fitness tracker, band, heart rate monitor, yoga mat or a sports watch.

Equipment is another great gift idea.  Some ideas include a balance trainer, kettle ball, exercise ball, lightweights, wobble board and stair stepper.

What about some nice fitness gear?  Shoes designed for running, cross-training or whatever fits your goals.  Thermal clothing and sports glasses are other ideas.

You could also give the gift of fitness through an exercise DVD or videogame.  These are great for working out at home.

Although most of us are probably thinking about what to give others, consider giving yourself a gift.  This is the perfect time of year to start thinking about yourself if you haven’t been.

The reality is that the greatest gift you can give to those you love is a healthy body.  Determining to make changes, to become more active, to eat healthier and stop habits like smoking are free gifts.

Actually, if you were to quit smoking you would not only improve your health, you would save money.  You might even save money by stopping the frequent trips to McDonalds.

Most gifts eventually break or wear down.  But the gift of fit living is something that will last a lifetime.
