She is a full time single mom (her son's father is not involved in his life in any way, shape, or form) caring for her son Jonathan. She is a teacher to her son, whom she also homeschools. She is a student attending college to get her bachelor's degree in K-8 education. She is a business owner as an independent consultant for Usborne Books. She is a PCA (personal care attendant) to an individual with FASD (Fetal Alcohol Spectrum Disorder). She is a caregiver to her aging mother. She is the "rock" of the family. In her spare time she enjoys spending time with family, friends, and pets, learning new things, writing, reading, cooking, baking, candy making, listening to music, watching movies, breeding guppies, and having fun. Michele Thorne lives in northern Minnesota with her son, mother, brother, two cats (Zoomer - short hair tabby and Lancelot - long hair all white) two dogs (Duke - Boxer and Heidi - Beagle) and six new puppies (beagles) and lots of fish. She moved back to the small town she grew up in after living in the city for several years. She was raised in a family where family is very important, and it remains that way today. She has four sisters, three brothers, thirteen nephews and nieces, and four (soon to be five) great nephews and nieces. Her son is her number one priority, and everything that she does, she does for him. As stated earlier, Michele is a full time single parent. Her son's father has never even seen their son. When she told his father that she was pregnant, he told her she had to have an abortion, at which point she told him she did not, and would not. She went to work as normal a few days later to come home to find he had packed all his stuff and left. That was the last time she saw him. She has since concentrated her efforts on raising her wonderful son. She has worked, gone to college and received her Associate in Arts degree, dealt with child care, decided on homeschooling, homeschooled, and raised her child by herself. Michele enjoys writing very much, and has enjoyed it her entire life. For as long as she can remember she has had a pen/cil to paper. She has written poetry, song lyrics, fiction, and non-fiction. Though this will be the first time she has been published, (other than some poetry in her yearbook) she hopes that it will not be the last. |
