My Confession About My Food Storage - Blog Entry

06 Aug 2007 08:28 AM

my husband is more of the food storage person than I am. but we do the shopping together. We store a lot of grains that we mill ourselves.because prepackaged flour is not going to last longer than six months on the shelf even in an air tight container, because the natural oils break down as soon as it is milled.we bake our own everything.bread you name it.also whole grains do not have to be rotated yearly in an air tight container, they last up to three years.as for can food.we only buy veggies,No pasta meals. And if we buy can meat it's beef or chicken.this goes well with rice and a can of mixed veggies my children love it,even our two year picky eater.I dont plan meals a lot of the things I fix is a makeup.if the kids like it I write it down.this keeps me out of the what do I fix tonight blues.I always have the same old same old to fall back on.

As chorister I also am glad that some parents take the time to help their children learn the primary music. we to handed out CD.s and sheet music to the children for christmas. We have done this for three years now and it really works.I have only been in there this year but my children have learned a lot with this gift.I plan to keep the tradition going as long as I'm in there and to pass it on to the next person, like it was passed to me.

Primary Time: Sacrament Meeting Mayhem - Blog Entry

I have five children ages 11, 7, 6, 4, and 2 they do ok.but it is the 11 year old that starts the mayhem by telling the other children not to sit next to her.mostly because her friends sit in the back row and we make her sit with the family. It's harder to teach the younger to sit still.and I don't want to give in to her.I believe the family should sit as a unit.
