I grew up (from 4th grade until I was married at age 21) in an 1100 sq. ft. home with a brother, sister, and my parents. Our laundry room was in the kitchen and my sister and I shared a fairly small bedroom. We were fine and comfortable in that home too. Why do we need all the extra "un-needed" space? To just store more stuff? I know that for some people it is just a symbol of their status in society. So they can tell people that they live in a 2000+ sq. ft.home. I could care less what size home my friends or family live in. That has nothing to do with the person they are. I prefer smaller homes - they seem more friendly and cozy! Right now, my husband and I are raising our daughters in a home that is less than 1500 sq. ft. We moved from a home that was over 2000 sq. ft. But, this house is in town, close to schools, shopping and our church. I wouldn't trade it for anything! I have to say that good old "Blowin' in the Wind" is my favorite Dylan song. I'm with you on all of them except for Pink Floyd and Sex Pistols. You have given me the urge to go out and do a little CD shopping! Soul Patrol, Soul Patrol - Journal Entry12 Jun 2006 01:12 PM I'm totally with you! I was very sad to see Elliot go, but knew that I would be rooting for Taylor. He is so much fun to watch and he seems really into everything he sings. When he's performing, he is definitely having a good time! Why do some couples not want a traditional ceremony? - Blog Entry11 Jun 2006 02:05 PM My husband and I had a traditional wedding in a church with family and friends. It was something I always wanted. I wore my mother's wedding gown and veil. A close family friend made the wedding cake. My father-n-law took the wedding pictures (for free). It was kept very low cost - most things for the reception were lovingly borrowed or made. It was a wonderful, perfect day! You couldn't wipe the smile off my face! Protecting Your Child From Pornography - Blog Entry11 Jun 2006 01:47 PM This is such an important topic! My husband and I have put most of these ideas into action. The internet is a scary place for a child. Thanks for covering this! "Bark, George" by Jules Feiffer - Blog Entry11 Jun 2006 10:55 AM My youngest daughter used to read it to me over and over! It is such a cute and funny story. |
