Lots of money to be spent and made there. Genealogy or The Importance of the Past - Blog Entry08 Aug 2009 07:08 AM With some research, you should be able to find ancestors going back several generations on the German side of the family. They kept good records. The Irish destroyed records to keep information from the English, so the farthest back we can trace Irish ancestry is around 1800. The Iowa State Geneological Society has almost all the records you would need to do the research. It is fascinating. The Value of Patience - Blog Entry24 Jul 2009 07:19 AM YAY!!!! By the way, I love the visual image of suspense. Tilting, Breaking, Freezing, and Insomnia - Blog Entry17 Jul 2009 06:55 AM Listening to her worries and frustrations, giving her hugs when she's down and when she's not, sitting with her, praying with her. Those are a few ways to help her. She has given up control of her body and it's a mind-boggling thing. When there's any hint of a problem with the baby or with delivery, distress is very common. Be there for her. Even if she doesn't seem to be relieved of stress, she will appreciate it. I'm praying for you both. Breech Baby Blues - Blog Entry17 Jul 2009 06:45 AM The most important thing is a safe delivery for mom and baby. Forget about whether or not it's in a hospital. You are entering the world of "You have no choice in this matter" so it's best to do what the midwives and doctors tell you. I have a friend whose baby turned in the right direction during labor, so it's definitely possible!! I am praying that your little guy does a flip soon! The Paint Job - Blog Entry05 Jul 2009 09:17 AM The saga of the effortless paint transport makes me laugh! What is Spina Bifida, and Who is at Risk? - Blog Entry25 Jun 2009 12:31 PM All of the info in this article is correct, however, I have to say that the pictures of the children in wheelchairs do not represent all people with spina bifida. Many people with spina bifida are mobile and are not in wheelchairs at all. I have a 10 year old daughter with sb, and she can run short distances, ride a bike with no problems now, and learned to walk with no aid at the age of 22 months. She does have some physical limitations, but she deals with those. She's a very strong person and I am so glad she's in our family. When women discover they are facing the birth of a child with a disability, many doctors will advise them to abort. There is a lot of misinformation in the medical community about spina bifida. These children are resilient and add much joy to their families. |
