Feed a fever, starve a cold? - Blog Entry

03 Mar 2007 05:18 AM

This is the closest I've even seen as to what "Starve a cold, feed a fever" means. Many, many years ago a woman in her 50's (she would be almost 100 if still alive) told me (I was a very young child) that this saying means -- stay warm when you are sick. (There used to be thinking that you had to "sweat" the fever out of you.)
