Lance Bass is making the most of his recent third place finish on “Dancing with the Stars.” According to reports, the former boybander wants to ride his wave of renewed popularity by returning to his musical roots.
In Touch is reporting that Bass is trying to reunite his former ‘N Sync band members, including Justin Timerblake JC Chasez, Joey Fatone, and Chris Kirkpatrick.
The popular boy band split in 2002 and the stars went on to pursue solo projects, but now Bass says he wants to bring the group back together to record new material.
Bass tells In Touch, “It’s a definite possibility. We are like brothers – it’s perfect.”
Meanwhile, the all-female pop trio the Cheetah Girls are planning to call it quits this Christmas.
According to the group’s spokesperson, the members of the beloved Disney singing group will part ways after completing their current One World tour on December 22nd.
Group members include Kiely Williams, Adrienne Bailon and Sabrina Bryan (another “Dancing with the Stats” alum). Williams recently told In Touch magazine that the trio is parting amicably and will always be close.
“I love the Cheetah Girls, I’ll always be a Cheetah Girl. It’s been a life-changing experience.”
The girl group was created by Disney for a film and TV series and parlayed their success around the world. Originally the Cheetah Girls were a quartet, but actress Raven Symone left the band in 2005 due to other commitments and the group has been a trio ever since.
News of the band’s split comes just weeks after revealing photos of bandmate Bailon circulated on the Internet in an apparent publicity stunt gone wrong. However, contrary to popular belief, Williams says the photo scandal is not the reason the band is breaking up.
“We always knew this tour would probably be our last,” Williams told the magazine. “We were excited about going out on a high note, it’s sad that this negative attention put a damper on that.”
Note to female singers associated with Disney: Keep your clothes on before stepping in front of the camera.
