Hanky Pankies

1 pound of fresh, ground pork sausage
3 tablespoons onion, minced
1/2 teaspoon garlic powder
1/4 teaspoon black pepper
1 cup processed cheese sauce
16 ounces cocktail rye bread

In a large skillet, cook sausage over medium heat until it is browned. Stir onion, garlic powder, black pepper, and processed cheese into the skillet, mixing well. Cook until the cheese is melted. Spread 1 tablespoon of mixture onto each slice of cocktail rye and then serve warm.
