We continue our VeggieTales series with another Larry Boy adventure, this time dealing with temptation. Larry Boy has been called out to help some poor children retrieve a stolen candy bar, and he does so with his usual panache, returning the confection to its rightful owners and sending the perpetrators to jail. But on his way home to the Larry Cave, he rewards himself with some chocolate of his own, and overdoes it. A terrible tummy ache later, he’s ready to listen to his faithful butler Alfred, who suggests that he put aside the chocolate for a time and concentrate on eating healthy foods.
Meanwhile, a bad apple, bearing the name Temptation, has wandered into town. Her plan is to ruin Bumblyberg’s 300th celebration and take over the town for herself. She has identified three sources of opposition: the television reporter Petunia Rhubarb, the mayor Madame Blueberry, and Larry Boy. She sends out her accomplice, a worm (no, he really is a worm) to learn the weaknesses of these three people, and then she sets about her plan.
Petunia Rhubarb loves video games. She plays them between filming her various news stories, almost to the point of not being able to concentrate on her job. Temptation introduces her to a new game that hasn’t been released yet, literally sucks her into it, and there goes the press. She does the same thing to the mayor after discovering that Madame Blueberry likes to look nice. She encloses her in a virtual dress shop, keeping her imprisoned by her own weakness. Now it’s time for Larry Boy.
Will our plungerheaded hero be able to turn away from his love of chocolate long enough to save Bumblyburg? Will he even realize that he’s being trapped? And why did the bad apple’s parents give her such an unfortunate name? All these questions, and more, will be answered in this installment of the Larry Boy series by the creators of VeggieTales.
