Pink and Carey Separate and Idol News

How many times have Michele and I started a blog with “Well, they said it wouldn’t last…and it didn’t!” This time, I am talking about motocross racer Carey Hart and his soon to be ex-wife Pink. The couple has decided to end their union after a mere two years. The singer and the racer met at the 2001 X Games in Las Vegas. She proposed to him four years later while the couple was at a race in Mammoth Lakes, California. A January 7, 2006 wedding followed in Costa Rica.

But, now the good times are over. Today, Pink’s rep Michele Schweitzer said “This decision was made by best friends with a huge amount of love and respect for one another. While the marriage is over, their friendship has never been stronger.”

As you probably know, the new season of “American Idol” is in full swing. After the crazy auditions and the often turbulent Hollywood week, the cream of the top has been chosen. The top 24 are: Carly Smithson, Amanda Overmyer, Kristy Lee Cook, Brooke White, Alexandrea Lushington, Ramiele Malubay, Syesha Mercado, Kady Mallory, Amy Davis, Alaina Whitaker, Asia’h Epperson and Joanne Borgella for the girls and David Cook, David Archuleta, Danny Noriega, Jason Castro, Luke Menard, Michael Johns, Robbie Carrico, Garrett Haley, Chikezie Eze, Jason Yeager, David Hernandez, and Colton Berry for the guys.

If any of those turn out to be favorites of yours, you will be able to download their performances on iTunes. “American Idol” and Cupertino based Apple Inc. have a new agreement in which the semifinalists performances will be on sale for 99 cents per song. A full video of the top 12 contestants can be downloaded from iTunes starting March 11 for $1.99.

Look for new performances on iTunes every day after the show airs.
