Sometimes, when the weather is cold and wet, and it’s been raining for days on end, it’s nice to be able to just stay home. Many people feel sleepy on rainy days, perhaps because the gray gloom of the world outside seeps into their mood, and steals their energy. This is the perfect time to park yourself on the couch and watch a movie. There are quite a few options that you can take advantage of in order to watch a movie for free right now.
Redbox is a good place to start. Last month, they had a code that you could use to get one free movie rental from any of the Redbox kiosks. Unfortunately, that particular deal pretty much required people to have a Facebook account. Without it, you couldn’t access the free code. This month, though, they have an offer that doesn’t have anything to do with Facebook.
The Redbox deal is for people who have never made a Redbox account before. First, you need to make an account. Next, you need to use their website in order to reserve the movie you want to see. After that, you can go to your local Redbox kiosk, and pick up the actual DVD. When you return that DVD, they will give your account a free credit, that you can redeem online for one late night rental.
Blockbuster has bright blue Blockbuster Express kiosks. I had no idea, because I’ve never actually seen one. If you go to the Blockbuster Express website you can sign up to get the New Release Email. Give them your email address, and you will get a free DVD rental. My best guess is that they will probably send you some sort of code in your email that you will need to use in order to get the free movie rental.
Hulu has plenty of movies that you can watch for free. Some of the movies require that you sign up with Hulu, but doing so is free. There will never be any rental fees, or late fees, on the movies you watch through Hulu. You stream them directly through your computer. The free account will break up the movie you are watching with short little ads, but, in my opinion, it’s not very annoying to put up with. If it’s raining hard, and you don’t want leave your warm, dry, house in order to pick up a movie, Hulu might be your best option.
