Introducing an over worked, under paid, exhausted parent. As if we don't have enough.

I've been a hopless blog addict for a while now. I read them and think to myself, "Wow! That sounds so much like my life!" It has become a bit of therapy for me, in a sense. Or, at least, a way to sit down for five minutes, oblivious to the chaos around me, and know that somewhere in the world, some poor parent is doing the same.

And here I am.

I thought I'd use this first post to just introduce myself, as boring as that may be.

I am a 23 year old mother of two, and I live in a small town in rural South Carolina. I am married, and have been so for almost 8 years. It has not always been easy, but we're still standing.

My children are Kody, a 7 year old boy, who is about the best kid a parent could ask for. Sure, he has his flaws. He can get a bit sassy, and on occasion is as defiant as any child. But for the most part, he's the easy one. He is incredibly intelligent, (No, I am not saying this as a biased parent), and is currently in first grade. He reads and performs math on third grade levels and will be attending Discovery Camp this summer. As any parent would, my heart swells with pride. He has always been a simple child, he never cried much as an infant, he's always been very cautious and obeyed the rules, he's polite, kind, and gets on well with others.

Then we have my daughter. Jayden is three years old, and she does her best to make up the lack of bad behaviour from her brother. She is wild. It isn't terrible. She doesn't have discipline issues. She's just...Jayden. She is constantly curious about everything in sight. She has to touch it, smell it, play with it, and in most cases, taste it. Yuck. From the time her feet hit the floor each morning she is going full force.

She has learned to pull furniture around to climb, and my kitchen cabinets and grocery supply do not stand a chance. I keep reminding myself to invest in those child safety latches, but I always seem to forget them.  The result of being exhausted when I leave work each day.

Which brings me to the next part of my introduction. I am a WalMart employee. I work as a Sales Associate, and I think that is the biggest umbrella term ever. I've had some people misconcept that I handle customer service, help customers find what they are looking for and such. Which is correct. But as a sales associate, I've learned so many things that I'm sure will help me in the job market.  have a post planned around just this, but I wont take up your time for it now. Just stay tuned, as if you shop at WalMart or plan to ever work for them, it will be key to you.

And now I must bid adieu, as Jayden has just ran in, cat in tow, by the tail, demanding breakfast. I fix it, or she'll fix it, and I don't have time for that mess today.
