It just makes things too competitive with the kids - my son, who is 12, is ahead of his older sister in math, and I don't want to create unnatural competition, so we don't worry about grade levels. No, not every minute of our lives is happy or shiny, but I think we do have, in some ways, easier lives than women who don't have the gospel. I think that's the difference the author of the original article was picking up on. We certainly don't have every answer, but we can get peace about our decisions and we have a sense of direction - not that women of other faiths don't have direction, don't get me wrong - but I think the author sensed in us something that she's missing in herself.
