It's interesting how music can either help us focus or be a distraction, depending on what we're trying to do and what kind of music it is. For some reason, I like to listen to country while I mop my kitchen floor. :)

You don't work with the council? I think that must be a decision made by your local leaders, rather than a Church thing -- in our area, we meet with the council once a month for Round Table and we do follow the guidelines set by BSA. Each set of local leadership is responsible to decide what should be done in their own area, and they're accountable for those decisions, but it's too bad that the boys in your area aren't getting the full benefit of the program. Perhaps down the road your leaders will reevaluate how it's administrated in your area.
