I agree with you completely. Finances are definitely a consideration in having a family. However, we take a great many things into account when we choose our family size, finances being only a part of it.

Well, I dunno -- I rather like a few of those shows. American Idol and Dancing with the Stars being the ones I like. But I hate Hell's Kitchen, The Bachelor, and stuff like that.

You know, there are some people who are just that way. :) I still write an occasional letter, but I type it out. Days of pretty stationery are long gone for me, I'm afraid. Although I still like it.

I'm so sorry! I'm not sure how helpful this is, but I've often found that when my husband doesn't meet my expectations, it's because he didn't fully understand why it was important to me. I don't know if you've had a talk with Wayne about his absense, but perhaps a really direct heart to heart would help. Sometimes I think I've explained myself to my husband, only to learn later that I wasn't direct enough. Men need things spelled out. They don't pick up on nuances like women do.

And I'm sorry to hear about your mom.

Hmm. . . very interesting. As a Mormon myself, I hope Derek's behaving himself. But he's in an industry where it's hard not to get too involved -- I mean, the little costumes and the flirty moves. And Shannon is very pretty. I wonder, now that they're no longer on the show, if they will continue to see each other.
