I was given a beautiful cross as a birthday gift by a Catholic friend years ago, and I didn't know how to respond to it -- I was 8 and thought there was something "bad" about crosses. I've since learned better and still find them to be beautiful pieces of jewelry, although I don't choose to wear one. I'm glad you found this blog to be helpful.

I'm glad that she's doing it, though, if for no other reason that it's the opposite of what Hillary's saying. But I agree -- it's too bad that she feels the need to hire a tutor. It would be great if they were doing it themselves instead of with a tutor.

I am hiding in my house. :) I'm going to step a toe out only to get the mail. I am not going to any stores, and I'm not even showered yet. I'm having a nice lazy day, and that's how I like it!

Now, I do like going out the morning after Christmas and hitting the Walmart after Christmas sale, but that's entirely different. :)

I'm not sure I fully understand your questions -- we do say that Jesus Christ is the Son of God and our Living Savior, and Mormons weren't made Christians, we always have been, because we believe in and follow Christ. If you could expound a little on the questions, I could give a more in-depth answer. Thanks.

Great advice, Miriam -- you know, Lisa, without knowing her specific issues, it's hard to say, but I do truly hope that regardless of what decisions your friend makes concerning the church, she feels good about her decision and has peace. Of course, I find my peace through the gospel and would hope that she would choose that path too, but free agency is one of God's gifts to us and I can't make anyone do anything. (This doesn't keep me from wanting to, though. :)

Yeah, my husband likes to take the kids on long walks. Then he crashes while they run circles around him. It's sort of counter-productive.
