That is a great idea -- and much cheaper than letting her use real stamps. :)

Please Don't Ignore Your Child in Public - Blog Entry

Oh, yes, I know what you mean. It's so frustrating to be in line with someone whose child just wants a question answered, and they won't do it. It makes me want to answer the question for them, and add, "And your mommy/daddy is going to buy you a toy when you're done here," and watch the mother/father fume. :) I'm so mean . . .

Help For Kids With Food Allergies - Blog Entry

My children are allergic to ice cream, which makes them sad at birthday parties, etc. But we've found that there are delicious alternatives, such as sherbet, and frozen yogurt, and soy ice cream (which isn't as bad as it sounds -- it's actually good!)

Celebrities On The Move: Drew Moves To "Price Is Right" and Campbell Jumps Ship To CNN - Blog Entry

I'm so glad it's Drew Carey and not Rosie O'Donnell. I like Drew. I used to like Rosie until the Tom Selleck/NRA thing, and it's just gone downhilll from there.

Will You Be Watching? - Blog Entry

Hmmmm -- I don't know about the dancing show. I think they should just stick with the ones they have -- we're becoming so unindated with reality shows that it's lessening how cool they were to begin with. That said, I'll probably give it a try.

I'm still nursing my wounds over Mario. :)

Mom and "Chatty" Tot Get Booted From Flight - Blog Entry

You'd think the stewardness could trade assignments with another stewardess if she was that annoyed. She could go work a whole 'nother cabin and not have to hear the toddler, who, I'm sure, would not have kept talking the whole flight. Honestly!

I hope the mother sues and I hope she wins tons and tons of money.

I have suffered from motion sickness my whole life. Here are some things I do:

Sit in front, like you mentioned.

Stay cool -- when we're nauseated, our body temperature goes up. If you can stay cool, you can keep the temp. down and keep the nausea down. Use cool cloths, air conditioning, etc.

Go to sleep while driving. (Not the driver, of course. :) If you sleep through the trip, you don't get as sick.

Take Dramamine. It's fabulous -- I even took a half one to keep my stomach calm on my wedding day. :)

Creeping Doubts: Missing Something? - Blog Entry

I don't think you *have* to have a foreign language -- they're helpful but not crucial. I don't think you have anything to have doubts about -- your kids sound awesome!

Do Video Games Affect Schoolwork? A New Study Says Yes - Blog Entry

I think the disparagy here is between learning games and mindless games -- I too have found a lot of use in learning games, just as I have in letting my children watch tv as long as it's educational. You would not believe the things my two-year-old can do just because he's seen it on tv.

The danger, in my mind, is when kids prefer to seclude themselves with a computer when they could be interacting with other people, especially their families. Family interaction is usually one of the main things that suffers when someone spends too much time on the computer (believe me, I know -- I ended up moving my computer into the living room just so I'd be near my family more while working.)

So what does "American Pie" mean, anyway? I've heard it over and over (not 11 times an hour, though) and have never grasped the meaning.
