Well, what I meant was, we didn't know who Norma Jean was until she became Marilyn Monroe. :) I could have phrased it better.

Should You Join a Writer's Group? - Blog Entry

14 Feb 2007 06:53 PM

Kori, you can still get feedback even without belonging to an actual group. I've published two books and would have perished without the feedback from other authors I trust. They always find things that I miss. So yes, you can succeed without attending an actual group, but it is so valuable to have someone else read for you. It's impossible to catch all your own mistakes.

A Homeschooler and Their Money will Not Be Parted? - Blog Entry

One thing I do that saves me scads of money -- I use those plastic sheets that you use to put scrapbook pages in and we lay those over our workbook pages. The kids write on them with a dry erase marker with a bullet tip. Then we move on to the next page. When they're done with the book, it's still fresh and clean for the next kid, and I'm not having to buy new books for each kid every year. In this way I'm only buying new books for the oldest child each year, and I spend about $50 a year that way. Oh, plus the cost of dry erase markers.
