I just might hunt down some e-mail addresses and send that suggestion on over to the folks who run the state of Alabama. I do think education has a lot to do with it. When I was put on my low sodium diet, I was really surprised to learn all I did about the sodium content in foods. Here I thought I'd been really savvy, but apparently not, and that extra bit of knowledge has made all the difference. Overweight in Alabama - Blog Entry28 Aug 2008 11:30 AM I wonder how many of the other southern states also experience the same lack of choices with food, whether it's a regional thing or a state thing, or what. I would be so curious to see some kind of comparison for sickness rates in Alabama amongst the overweight and the skinny. And if the skinny are also eating these high-fat foods, I wonder how much longer they will be skinny. Interesting comments, Janet. Makes me want to go hack into an Alabama doctor's office computer and compare charts. :) The King and I (1999) - Blog Entry28 Aug 2008 11:22 AM Yes, there are some stories that just shouldn't be made into animated films. France Bans Baby Shows from Airwaves - Blog Entry21 Aug 2008 11:31 AM That's really interesting . . . in my mind, this is a decision that should be made by the parents, not the government. Santa's Secret - Christy Hardman with Phil Porter - Blog Entry19 Aug 2008 01:38 PM I promise you, Dan, you will love this book. "No Pooing" Method - Blog Entry13 Aug 2008 11:21 AM Having clean hair is a total must for me. I go a little nuts if my hair isn't clean, and it's oily, so I shampoo every single day. If I've had a busy day and haven't gotten in the shower yet, I'll sometimes get out of bed and shower before I can go to sleep. Having clean hair helps me think, helps me relax, and I can't even imagine not "pooing." I say, if it works for some people, hey, more power to them -- but I'm a hair-washer. Has to happen for my sanity.
