Was She Ever Really Pregnant? - Blog Entry

Samual, there's no need to overeat or gain weight during pregnancy? You do realize that the woman's blood volume increases dramatically during pregnancy, just to keep the baby alive, and that accounts for weight gain right there. Not to mention water weight, which is also somewhat necessary. Additionally, the mother's body needs all the nutrients it can possibly get, so while she shouldn't overdo on desserts, she does need to consume quite a few calories, especially those that come from iron and protein containing foods such as meats and cheeses. If she doesn't gain enough weight, she and her baby could suffer serious health risks.

I think use of the word is wrong, regardless of who uses it. And don't children repeat what they hear? If they hear it used, regardless of if it's a term of endearment, and they repeat it, not meaning it in a mean way, they'll get slapped down for it, not understanding the differences.
