My Wife Does EVERYTHING - Blog Entry

Haha. . .so my husband always talked about how he didn't think babies woke up that much. I nursed on demand and so there was never a reason to wake him. Plus I figured that if I didn't have to go to work I could always catch a few zzzz's during the day.

Then we had twins. It gave him a whole new appreciation for me. ;-) But I def. agree with Michele. It changes so quickly.

Thanks Akins, I think you're missing the point of the article.

I still hate Rosetta Stone-it even says that it is a vocabularly supplement to a more traditional program. It is a more traditional program that I think is more effective. But as I said in the article-I know people who love it. To each his own.

Thoughts on breech babies:

They do turn. . .it is possible. . .so don't give up hoping.

Sometimes, after delivery you discover that the turning was a blessing in disguise. Some babies who aren't engaged get yanked back by their cord wrapped tightly around their necks.

Also, remember that you as the patient have the right to deny a course of treatment. You don't have to have the drugs. . .and you don't have to have the needles. You can just turn them down and if they tell you that they want it in place. . .ask for a hep lock. Good luck!

Thrush is a common problem. . .but the pain would last throughout nursing and especially during let down. That doesn't sound like what you have.

Is the pain alleviated when you try a different position? The football hold is generally the easiest in which to master the correct latch.

Were you always in pain (like were you in pain when you saw the LC?) And also has your baby been evaluated for thrush. . .anyone been on antibiotics recently or anything like that?

A Mother's View from the Pool: Breastfeeding by the Water - Blog Entry

15 Jun 2009 03:56 AM

LOL Well you know what I'm going to say right? I do however, not want to see a breastfeeding mother IN the pool. Nor do I want to see a mom get mad when a curious kid asks what she's doing.

Last summer there was a mom nursing on the side of the kiddy pool. So my then 5yo asked what she was doing. She pointed. . .and well, she is kind of loud. I just told dd that she was "nursing."

You'd have thought that I had personally complained as the woman began to berate me for not actually saying the word "breast." And that I should teach my children better so that they recognize something natural. Um. . .okay. ;-)
