Christie Brinkley's Ex-Husband's Infidelity Confession - Blog Entry

I was laughing at that last line too! Courtney I think you're right in that it does take two to break down a relationship. . .but I always wonder what makes women (like Brinkley) shack up with bad news men like Cook in the first place. Sad. . .just sad.

Would You Allow Your 15-Year-Old Daughter to Date a 20-Year-Old Guy? - Blog Entry

I'm with you. . .NO WAY! It's true that you can look on lots of people in hindsight and go--"see it worked out". But I would venture to guess for every story that worked out, there's another few that really isn't so pretty. Once she's an adult, I think that age is kind of irrelevant. . .but at 15. . .an older guy is a huge influence--and not often for the better.

Kara--that's exactly what I do with candy we get in party bags.

Now see--I take issue with the words "sneaking" and "confession" Michele. ;-) If you buy the costume and take them to wherever you're taking them to obtain their candy. . .this is rightfully due payment. Chocolate compensation is always in order. ;-) (of course this is from the mom that doesn't celebrate Halloween.) ;-)

Samual that depends on the state. Each state governs its own education--there's not unified education here. Then each states passes the school governence down to districts. So every state, every district can do education differently. My mega school can be entirely different in every aspect than MaryAnn's. I never had, by the way, more than 20 kids in any of my classes.

I think too you're oversimplifying the issue. It's true that the more people spend money the more it boosts the economy over all. I think you're confusing frugalality with stinginess which is not the same thing. But telling me that my family is contributing to a recession because we chose a simple lifestyle so I could stay home is kind of. . .well just backwards thinking. Frugality is about making choices on how you will spend your money. I know lots of people that live simply in order to give to those who need it more. This is just not the same concept.

That's a bummer. Obviously all educational districts run differently. . .so just bc my district found a way to make it more profitable--doesn't mean the same for you. But mega high schools (in particular) tend to have TONS more opportunities for kids. And it's nice.

I think too any time you can mix ages (if you do it right which is another question) that is a bonus--not a negative.

Why You Shouldn't Give Cough or Cold Medicine to Your Baby - Blog Entry

Agreed Mary ann. And just for someone reading again--the issue has never been acetimenophen (sp?). It's been cough & cold meds--which Tylenol does make. Tylenol the fever reducer is just fine in the proper dosage. ;-)

People who think marshmallows are tasty?

Seriously Samual, I think you grossly misunderstand frugality. These are the same people that are likely to save the earth from mass consumerism by doing their own composting and growing their own food. They find ways to save on energy, and reduce their waste by reusing and recycling. Not to mention the fact that people who are frugal with their daily needs are often the very people that have money to turn around and invest. Frugality doesn't have to be synonymous with cheap.

I found your article kind of interesting especially since I graduated in a class of 2,000. (Not the year obviously. . .I mean the number of students.) From a teaching standpoint, I think it makes a lot of sense. . .save money on building maintenance and put that money back into teaching. I think really the issue is that people don't like change and a mega school if you're used to "that small charm" is just plain different. But as someone who was incredibly well educated in schools that had several thousands students. . .all the way from elementary to high school--it's really not so bad.
