State school is cheaper although there's no government hand outs for getting through. My school was $15 thousand the first year, $18 the next and then about $20 the last two years. Parents in Ohio Irate About Ban on Cheerleaders' Short Skirts - Blog Entry11 Sep 2008 01:01 PM Okay. . .not that I have daughters who are cheerleaders and not that I don't think the moms are just being whiny but. . . I let my kids do all sorts of stuff that I find inappropriate for church. . .they swim, one of my girls does ballet and my other does gymnastics. . .all of which require specific clothing to the sport and none of which I'd want them wearing to church. Modesty I think is sometimes defined by the specific circumstances. A bathing suit is appropriate for the beach. . .but not for church. As for cheerleading skirts--Michele the shells for school uniforms must cover the midriff. All star teams and college teams don't have those regs generally. The skirt is a safety issue and just as you don't want your kid running hurdles in baggy jeans, the skirt is short so that when the flyer is flying they catch her and not her material sending her crashing to the ground. Doesn't mean they should get to wear them in class--but there is a reason for their attire to be that way. (In general, you'll note that teams that don't stunt or tumble often have longer uniforms. When I got married my spouse and I had a combined total of $130 thousand dollars of debt from loans. We only have about $25 thousand left now--which is pretty decent all things considered. . . Having Twins At Age 59 - Blog Entry10 Sep 2008 03:57 AM Rude? Really? As opposed to your politely worded post? You do realize that people die right? And that frankly, your chances of dying at 59 are a little more statistically in your favor than your chances of dying at age 30? The reality is that we are a "I gotta have it now, don't think about the consequences of others" society. This is a perfect example. Was she really thinking of her children? I doubt it. Clearly she wasn't thinking about the fact that most twins are born prematurely. . .and of course she's increased their risk of being born with life threatening diseases and illnesses due to her age. She wasn't thinking about how much love she had to offer a child who needed it--she could've adopted to do that. She was thinking about herself and how she wanted a baby or two--at any cost. I think if I remember correctly, these babies were born healthy but that is luck--not selfless motherly love. I hope her spouse is prepared to do both geriatric care and care for teens at the same time. Often in the city the issue is with the landlord in the apartment building because they are legally required to provide window safety guards for this very reason. I appreciate you erring on the side of caution because frankly, it's not that easy of a living situation. You either have to suffocate in an overly hot apartment, or open windows and do your best. I don't know how many chidlren these people have but horror of horrors--my eyes are not peeled to every single one of my children 24/7 nor was it that way when they were toddlers.
