I don't believe it. It seems like I remember her telling someone somewhere that they were naturally conceived. But maybe I'm wrong.

So This is Why They Call Her a Crybaby - Blog Entry

DeeDee--

The argument is that in the African American community it is not always considered a racial slur unless it comes out of a non-African American person's mouth. A slur. . .is the white person's meaning to the word. Again, I'm not condoning the use, those who I know use it also have other colorful language. But the point I'm making along with what I think they're saying is that we don't get to dictate racial reconciliation to the African American community.

Also to define "their world" as simply socioeconomic is pretty narrow honestly. Whoopi is a lot older then Hasselbeck and frankly when she started, there weren't a lot of African American entertainers. She along with some others really paved the way for there to be good roles in Hollywood rather than the token black guy in a film. So their worlds are different by a long shot. To say their not compeltely denies history.

With that said. . .I'm thinking this might be a good debate topic for the forums. ;-)

Again, still don't think it's great speech. . .it goes along with other colorful language that I would use either. . .but

Okay. . .go ahead. . .throw tomatoes at me. But we don't live in the same world. Maybe where you live the world is the same. . .but it's not the same here and noticeably so. I think the way to move forward is with cultural acknowledgement and elimination of racism. That hasn't happened yet. Sorry.

With that said, I find that those who use the 'n' word also use other words that I would consider crude. . .and thus I don't find it appropriate. But neither will I go about telling other cultures what words they can and can't use. I thought Taye Diggs explained the particular perspective well.

LOL And to boot. . .I don't watch the View. . .too much nonsensical drama!

Is Your Baby Bottle Safe--UPDATE - Blog Entry

Thank you for your comment--in 2007, more than a year ago when this blog was written, Medela made an announcement that they would 'start' manufacturing BPA free stuff. They have since changed their wording realizing the implications. Before the research--they never labled anything BPA free and I suspect that what they did was just continue making their prodcuts and then realized how they came across. However, when I wrote this blog. . .that's what they announced.
