The Most Amazing Holiday Light Displays - Blog Entry

14 Dec 2007 05:08 AM

Yes light seeing is a tradition here. The bronx zoo and botanical gardens have fantastic light displays. The Botanical gardens actually has the holiday train show which is buildings, etc. around an ENORMOUS train track. All the buildings are made of botanical items. ;-) It's incredible. . .maybe I'll pop over and post some pictures.

well. . .when you have administrators and teachers that have preconceived ideas that there is ONE better way to do it I guess parents feel the need to fight for their rights?

Legislation for Twins in the Classroom - Blog Entry

I'm not surprised. It really amazes me how people have such strong opinions on how twins should be raised and yet have no personal experience with twins. This is a decision best made by parents based on the individual twins involved and not based on a strict policy. Thanks for writing the article!

Gasp! My Older Children Help Their Little Siblings - Blog Entry

12 Dec 2007 06:32 PM

Well. . .I don't know if I can tell you how to fix this but I will say that in general, my kids are happy to help each other out. I'm not sure I would push it if they weren't. I do quite a bit of 'bouncing' as well.

I generally don't have them help with assignments specific to the curriculum though. I have one read to the other (the one who likes to read) and/or I have them work on something together so that everyone is occupied doing something educational. . .but it does mean that not everything comes straight out of what I planned.

Gift Giving for Twins at Christmas - Blog Entry

12 Dec 2007 07:33 AM

LOL I don't know but it's kind of funny you should ask because among our extended family (nieces and nephews and in-laws) we have 4 holiday birthdays. As a family we try hard to make sure they don't get gypped. . .but as they've gotten older it tends to be that they get nicer and/or bigger stuff but not as much. The oldest niece whose b-day falls on the 29th of Dec. gets a choice. . .she can either have a seperate party and some smaller gifts or her parents have offered her to skip the party, skip the extra presents and use the money instead for one big nice present. She tends to go for the more expensive, bigger and nicer things. . .so it's not all bad! ;-)
