Teaching Socialization in a Structured Environment - Blog Entry

Thanks! My kids were pretty young when I wrote this. . .I had one in 2nd grade and one in kinder and the others were too little to be schooled at the time. Looking down the road a couple of years later--marvle of all marvles--that self-control and common courtesy has served them really well in making new friends and exploring different things. ;-)

A Link Between Gestational Diabetes and Language Delays - Blog Entry

I kind of wonder if the link is between gd or btwn the other complications that gd causes--like prematurity? I also wonder if the variables of birth order were ruled out. IME, first borns almost always talk more than subsequent siblings! LOL

Something that said blogging mom failed to realize is that Gwyneth and charming child live in New York City. Do you (or really said blogging mom) have ANY IDEA WHAT IT'S LIKE TO WALK WITH A CHILD (OR TWO) in NYC? Granted we are a family who walks and my little ones are really good walkers because we had to walk so much--but that's bc lugging a stroller on the bus or subway is not so easy. But in general, you have to be pretty pushy to keep your kids from getting run over. No one cares if Valorie Delp is pushy--I just smile and make sure you don't run over my kid by physical contact if necessary. The second that GP however, puts her hands out to help avoid a would be runner overer, I'm sure she's get labeled some type of big jerk head for "pushing." UGH
