A defiant child is sort of what the old folks used to refer as "hard headed" when I was a kid.

Yep, years ago I used to shop there religiously. Every Sunday I would get the paper and see what was on sale. My favorite thing was Tabu perfume. Everytime they had it on sale I bought as much as I could afford!

More Holiday Gift Ideas For Teachers - Blog Entry

I never realized how overworked and underpaid teachers were until Tyler started school this year. I don't think we can ever do enough to thank them for all they do for our kids. i'm going to school Wednesday to help out with the Christmas party-- a small gesture but it will save Tyler's teacher from running around frantically trying to get everything together. What's bad is they are having the second quarter CRT testing today and tomorrow plus Christmas lunch tomorrow and I know she's going to need help with the party.

I always give books as gifts, everyone who knows me accepts this fact. I try to find a book that fits the personality of the recipient. Of course, I always add something else to go along with the book.

Birthday Letters - Blog Entry

Thanks Megan, I thought it was a nice idea also. I know some people are into journaling and all that but I really don't think I would have the time to do so on a regular basis but this is a great idea. What I also decided to do was in addition to the letter and adding a picture, I will add little mementos from that year--- like movie ticket stubs---. I'm really excited about getting started. Oh, oh, maybe add a newspaper from his birthday each year so he can read abouth what was happening. Okay this is getting out of hand! I'll need a big padded envelope before it's over.

In the News: Moms Spend As Much Time With Kids Today As They Did 40 Years Ago - Blog Entry

Queen,

For the short time Tyler was in daycare while I worked a regular 9 too 5, I know I felt guilty about having to work and I made an effort to spend more time with him on the weekends. So maybe more parents feel the same way.

I was also surprised to find that the number of stay-at-home moms was 60%, I really thought it was higher.
