NOTE TO ALL: Before anyone reads anything, I would like everyone to understand that I dont want any bashing, flamming, or any negative comments towards me or my actions.
Remember, I am just like anyone one that takes advantage of the Extracare bucks deals. I played by the rules and was never unruly or disrespectful to any CVS employee.
For those who dont know me, I posted a couple of weeks back that I received a phone call stating that I am banned from CVS. I got alot of information from everyone and here is the newest update.
After I received all the information from everyone here, I went to my local law office to see what my legal grounds were and if there was anything I could do. I explained the whole situation to them and this is what they told me.
—Though I might not have done anything wrong and they have no reason to ban me from the store, they can legally disallow me from shopping at the store. Now if they do that, I can sue them, but the problem is, “what am I suing them for?” I would be suing them to force me to shop at the store which has no monetary value which means that no lawyer would take the case unless I pay them an hourly rate. The type of case is called a chancery case.
Then I went and contacted some consumer affair advocates on the local and major news channels but have not received any calls back.
After I went and tried contacting CVS corportate office directly and was told that CVS cant ban me for what I did. I went back and forth for three days explaining my situation to them and asking what I can do. They told me that they would be contacting the legal department and they would get back with me.
During these weeks, I went to a couple of CVS stores with many different outcomes. I went and shopped outside of my district with no problems at all. I used my large ECBs with no problem and they even called corporate and everything was okay. I then tried shopping inside my district and I was told that I couldnt use my ECB but I could shop there. Then I went to another store inside my district and was told to leave or the cops would be called.

Here is the letter that I received from the legal department;

Please be advised that as a result of concerns raised by your conduct at the above referenced CVS store, and in accordance with NJ law, you are hereby forbidden by CVS from entering this or any other CVS store again, effective immediately. You are also advised to cease all telephonic contact with CVS stores, customer service personnel and or any other corporate office. Furthermore, you must cease any desist from harassing any employee or customer of CVS.

Please let me know what I can do. I really need everyones help with this one.

Thanks to everyone who has tried to help

NIKKI——please dont close the thread and just mod anyone that gets out of hand.

That is so unfair. What is the value of your ECBs that you still have?

I still have around $900+ in ECBs
I still have around $900+ in ECBs
Well, you’re already harassing me and the other users (CVS Customers) with your incessant banter. Let it go.

I think most of us feel you went above and beyond what is considered rational and I, for one, could care less about your situation. A rational person would have foreseen your predicament and that’s why we don’t take it that far.

My recommendation? Take the ECB you have remaining and consider them the last free toilet paper you’ll be getting from CVS.

By the way, I bet it is people like you that led to the limits that now exist.

What was the legal advice you got about CVS not honoring your $900 in ECBs? I Would think there may be some kind of law protecting your right to use them, since you already have earned them?
BTW, they didn’t state that you couldn’t use them online (if you use a cable modum you won’t be using a phone. LOL)

Its comments like this that is not neccessary. Its not people like me that any changes have been made, as a matter of fact, no changes have been made at all. So before you go and think that I am harrassing anyone, think again.

There is a law stating that if a company has a reward program and you achieve some sort of reward, you have the right to redeem them. Its like saying if you joined some frequent flyer program and you had 100,000 miles and then the company says that they are canceling the program and not giving you anything for those miles.
I can use them online which I have used some already, but I want to use them in the store as they were intended for.

I think it is good for us to know that this could happen to any of us..I dont think anyone should judge you, we have all been known to go overboard when there was a great deal! We may have all learned a lesson at your expense. I am really sorry that this happened to you, but at least you know that you got a great deal while you could. Is there anyone else you can get to shop for you? Even if you cant use the bucks you’ve earned, at least you know the system well enough to build more in someone else’s name. Oh well, it was fun while it lasted. Keep us posted!

Geesh, that stinks. But shouldn’t you still have the right to redeem them in the store? If you order on line and have to pay shipping, I’d think that they weren’t honoring the agreement to the fullest as since they are taking away the right to not to have to pay shipping. They are placing a restriction on something ‘after the fact’ so to speak.

One option I have is to some how get my ECBs transferred to someone elses account. I dont know how and if it would work, but its an option.

You are completely right and that is why I dont want to use them online.

I would probably just buy really expensive stuff on cvs.com and sell it on Ebay (maybe some Chi hairdyers and straightening irons), then take the cash and rebuild your bucks on a “new” account (in someone else’s name)
I think they still have FREE SHIPPING over $49…
