Raging Alcoholic for a Father-In-Law

My father-in-law is a raging alcholic who drinks about a gallon of vodka, scotch or whiskey every week.  He is obsene, vulgar, abusive and a control freak.  I believe that my mother-in-law, sister-in-law and wife were abused by him.  He is disprespectiful and openly insults people.  There is no exception for being the new son-in-law as I have witnessed all of this.

His immediate family puts up with this abuse, and I don't understand if its because they fear him?  Its difficult to even say anything, his name is Richard, but he calls himself "BIG DICK", so he celebrates being an asshole!

Its been difficult for me because he moved around the corner from me and my wife and he's bee intrusive and its affecting our marriage.

For the folks of Exeter Township, Pennsylvania, we just made this guy a school bus driver.  The excessive drinking and obscene behavior concerns me.  Even if he's sober on the job, he's usually not as alert (hung over), yet we have entrusted him to pick up and transport our 6 year olds.  Like most situations,it won't surface until something happens, which will be too late.

I have some pictures of him giving the finger and drinking, but I don't know how to post yet. Stay tuned.

Any feedback for how the son-in-law should handle the situation is greatly appreciated!
