The Tips We Wish Were True

20 Jun 2006 05:17 AM

I got a real Kick out of this article. I used to spout some of these myths as I stuffed my face! I needed a laught today! Thanks!

Diabetes & Exercise

02 Jun 2006 06:17 AM

I couldn't agree with this article more. Since I started exercising (daily fitness walking) and lost weight, I have been taken off medication and have consistently maintain normal bg levels. Cholesterol, Triglycerides and Blood Pressure have also fallen into line! Good advice, Heather.

Caffeine and Weight Loss

16 May 2006 07:02 AM

I guess there is an exception to every rule. Every time I have tried diet pills with caffeine and/or ephedrine in them, I have experience a drastic increase in appetite. Even though I was a heavy coffee drinker, the pills made it worse. Since that time, as part of my overall weight loss program, I have gone completely off of caffeine (it was a horrible experience), and have experienced a noticable reduction in my appetite.

Strip It to Get Fit? I Don't See It

Sounds like a gimmick to sell more videos to me. But what really makes me sad is, I remember Olivia Newton John's video. Guess that dates me too!

Men & Stress

It certainly has worked out that way for me. Not only has my overall health improved since I started exercising, but my family is enjoying the benefits of me not being tired, cranky and stressed out all the time.

Pedometer Practice

I've lost 77 pounds in the last year by using my pedometer, and changing eating habits. Like you, it is like being in competition with myself! I love it, and it works.

The Life Diet

02 May 2006 01:43 PM

My mother-in-law, who's passed away now, was a very busy woman. She would cook large amounts of food when time allowed, and put together individual meals in containers (she used the old aluminum tv dinner trays), froze them and used them whenever she needed a nutritious meal, but didn't have time to cook. It worked pretty well for her.

Citrus Fruits for Help with Weight Loss

02 May 2006 01:38 PM

I'm wondering though about whether those with diabetes should consider trying to lose with with citrus fruits. Wouldn't this cause elevated blood sugar levels? On the other hand, the extra fiber and lower calories of most vegetables would be excellent, and should be a staple part of their diet, anyway.

Watch What You Say

The elementary school where I live is in the middle of a big fitness push. My 6 year granddaughter is overweight, which has been cause for concern for us. But she has never had any problems personally, until they started this thing in school. Now, other children are abusing her by calling her fatty and such, and making fun of her. Her mom is heading for school tomorrow! In the meantime, grandpa is furious!

Step Up: Join The Walking Craze - Book Review

24 Apr 2006 01:16 PM

I haven't read the book, but I could write one. I have lost 76 pounds in less than a year, with the use of a pedometer, and a change in my dietary habits. I have formed good habits and improved my health 100 percent! And you do indeed get excited about finding ways to move around more, and increase your steps, because results are motivating!
