It's been fun, KatieAnne :-). I would love to do a cruise. Haven't gotten one yet, but the Vancouver-Alaska trip would be a gorgeous one!

Looking for My Waist... Seriously - Blog Entry

22 Jan 2007 09:25 PM

The every other day diet would never work for me because I'd eat a dozen chocolate bars, half gallon of Rocky Road ice cream, and a whole can of chocolate frosting on the days off! I'm using FitDay.com (free) and entering in every single thing I eat. It's been kind of interesting to see what I've been chowing down in black and white :-(. Confessing...er, posting on the Diary of an Overweight Mom thread has been helpful, too.

At least you HAVE a waist to look for! I've never had one to speak of.

We babysat a child whose mother died in childbirth. Nobody wanted to change Ian's diapers! Nasty.

Good ideas, Kori! It can be so difficult to stay close when they're all growing up so quickly! One thing we did (well, my brother DID it) is to set up a family website (www.harrington-sd.com). We send photos, news, etc and he posts it so anyone can log in. It's great for getting addresses, birthdays, etc too. No more phone calls to mom bugging her for so-and-so's address.

Important Information For Parents With Young Daughters: Experts Recommend Cervical Cancer Vaccine - Blog Entry

Of course, Myra. I didn't mean to come off as dismissive. There ARE some girls for whom it could be a lifesaver. There are just too many unknowns, though! I was glad to see that the vaccine does not contain either a dead OR a live virus, yet it still seems that they are jumping the gun. Then again, I'm not a huge fan of vaccinations in the first place ;-). Good information, and certainly food for thought.

Homeschooling and Animal Planet - Blog Entry

Woohoo! Thanks, Andrea, for letting me show my kids that no, most homeschooled kids do NOT get to watch tv during the day! We have a "No electronics until 5" rule that they've been telling me was too harsh *s*. We love animal planet, too, and it fills up a large part of the TiVO.
