I'm not a hotdog eater, either, though I have been known to down a couple of Hebrew Nationals when we're at the beach. My kids like those nasty plump when you cook 'em kind. Disgusting. Thanks for the info!

Good review, Tristi! The CD was a little different than I expected, but I liked it nonetheless (except for "The Maze", which I loathed). He is amazing in concert; probably the second best one I've been to (after Heart). I can't wait for his NEXT album, one that's written free of 19 influence.

Good for you, Andrea! A lot of kids who are "hyperactive" just have a higher-than-average sense of curiosity or need for intellectual stimulation. I hate to see that curiosity drugged out of them.

Homeschool Criticism and Support - Blog Entry

Ugh. The "criticism" I hate the most is the oral tests from people who tell you that their niece or some other relative in government school would KNOW the answer to the question your wonderful and brilliant homeschooled child was unable to retrieve off the cuff.

The Pressure to Perform - Blog Entry

Excellent blog, Valorie! I'm always amazed at how quickly some parents want to push their children out of childhood. It's SO short in comparison to the rest of life.
