That comes to her honestly as the oldest girl in a family of eleven children whose parents believed that experiences were more important than things. She's carrying on that tradition with her own four children. Julie graduated with a BS in Liberal Studies. She's been writing since she was four, but believes a writer is what you are rather than what you do. She has been published in various magazines and newspapers, and is the author of four books. When her husband was stationed at the Naval Postgraduate School, together they had a newspaper column entitled "Out and About" where they reviewed local attractions. During their military life, Julie and her family have lived in such diverse places as Silicon Valley, Japan, Monterey, and now in the Northwest. Eleven moves in fourteen years made her a curiosity seeker, extreme extrovert, and an expert packer! Julie is a Frugal Queen, living well on one income (well, one and a half) in a two-income world.
