Loving the gas prices

Isn't it great that the gas prices have gone down so much? Amazing that we were able stay afloat during this past few years. Now that the prices are down what have I learned from this?

1. Try to keep the driving to a minimum. Plan to combine trips to store and other places.

2. Make sure vehicle is in top condition.

3. And the big new one. Budget gasoline for 3 dollars a gallon and what I have left over at the end of the month put in a special gasoline account.

This special gasoline account will be used for the next time gas prices go through the roof. The biggest problem was not the 4 dollars a gallon but how quick it got here. It takes time to adjust your finances for a commodity to double. You don't know if it is here for a month or is going to stick around for a while. Most people can't just go buy a car that gets 35 mpg on a moments notice.  Hopefully this will prepare me for the future energy crisis, if I can get enough money in there before it comes.
