What to do on Bed Rest

No one likes to be told that they have to be on bed rest for the remainder of their pregnancy. After all, when you are pregnant, you already feel like your liberty is restricted because you can not eat or drink certain things and as your body grows you certainly can not move in all of the ways that you usually can. If you do end up with a prescription of bed rest, it is wise to take it seriously in order to protect your health and the health of your little one.

What’s a girl to do when she’s stuck in bed all day and all night? Television will get old after a while, and you can only spend so much time on Facebook before you want to stop talking to people for a while. When I was placed on bed rest towards the end of my first pregnancy, I slept a lot. I figured that after the baby came, I would not likely be getting much sleep, so I enjoyed it while I could. I also read a lot of parenting books.

Fortunately, I was only in bed for a few weeks before my due date arrived. Some women spend months on bed rest. Some of them spend the time catching up on their favorite shows on DVD or playing computer games. Some people shop online, which can come in handy at this time of year if you have not gotten all of your Christmas shopping done. Bed rest time is a great time to learn a new craft or hobby, like knitting. There are many crafting activities that you can do while on bed rest, like crochet, cross stitching, and knitting. If you need supplies, ask a friend or relative to pick them up for you or order them online.
