Two of my kids are the same way! If it isn't a shaped and processed nugget, they don't touch it. I'm always stressing about their diet. Thanks for the tips.

Top Five Things to Eliminate in Your Diet - Blog Entry

Great tip about meat. Strangely, I never realized that meat was high in calories. But, I recently went vegetarian and I lost 15 pounds in 3 weeks! That was my only dietary change.

Sorry, guys... I didn't realize the lists would be formatted like this. I'll try to do better with the next entry. Since it's a bit jumbled, it's hard to read, but my girls are Hanan, Hallah, and Alia.

Wow - When Did You Get So Domestic? - Blog Entry

We've had similar problems. One of my husband's friends told him, "Man, she keeps you on a short leash!" On my end, one of my friends said, "Wow! He sure is controlling if you have to check in like that!" Now, both of these people are married (not to each other), and neither apparently feels the need to check in! That amazes me. I would be POd if hubby made plans without at least consulting me. And I would never dream of going out without letting him know. To me, it's just manners, respect, and communication. It's what grown-ups do!

My kids think they're too cool for the Wiggles now. I kinda miss it! I like the Wiggles... good voices, catchy jingles, wholesome words. What else do you need?

Celebrate Your Spouse - Blog Entry

I leave my husband little love notes on his sink. In them I thank him for working hard so that I can stay home w/ the kids, I compliment him on aspects of his job, I make references to things we've done together or things we've shared... nothing fancy, just personal snippets that don't get said in the hectic life we lead. I like your idea, though. I'm going to try it!

A Moment on Modesty - Blog Entry

Yes, I have the same problem. Kids really should be taught to respect themselves, but today's clothing designers don't make it easy. I cringe everytime I see a young girl in hot pants with "Flirt" written across her bottom. What are people thinking?

Why This Muslim Family Homeschools - Blog Entry

07 Apr 2006 04:38 PM

Leisa, yes, private religious schools are another good alternative. My stepson went to an Islamic school for several years. With four kids, though, we can't afford it. Besides, the Islamic schools in our area are not yet able to hold on to highly qualified teachers. Turn over is very high. Maybe one day. Till then, we homeschool.
